iPhone 7: Will Apple Users Finally Say Goodbye to the Home Button?

By

The buzz of the iPhone 7 handset redesign is buzzing all over the web as early as four seasons from the next smartphone launch.

One designer has revealed his vision for the next generation of the iPhone by creating a mockup of the smartphone. Marek Weidlich, according to Daily Mail UK, says his vision simplifies the phone. Weidlich's concept shows the screen side of the phone as one big edge to edge screen with no home button.

'I focused on simple design language which is very important for Apple,' he said. 'I designed a curved display without a bezel, and equipped with a software home button.

Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster also speculates that the iPhone 7 will indeed be the model that will lose the all-around home button, and that the handset will then rely on a 3D touch screen instead.

Munster tells Barron's that:

"As many have speculated, the addition of 3D Touch may provide Apple with a way to eliminate the home button on the phone and use the additional space to make the screen bigger or make the device smaller."

Other analysts are saying that the next model will have an improved battery life, says The Week. It's also expected that iPhone 7 will be the thinnest Apple handset by far at just 6mm thick.

Though a little bit behind Samsung, Sony and LG, patent applications published yesterday by the US Patent and Trademark Office by the California-based tech giant suggests that they may be finally preparing to incorporate wireless charging into the next generations of iPhones

The iPhone 6 and 6s and their plus counterparts sported new hardware features in that they differed from old models in size and thickness, but aside from that it was relatively the same from the 5 series. Apple fans are highly anticipating and hoping that the iPhone 7, that is set to launch next Autumn, will have a feature that will be revolutionary and innovative. After all that's what the brand stands for.
