BlackBerry's Rumored 2nd Android Device Codenamed as Vienna; Alleged Smartphone Photos Leaked

By

BlackBerry has just recently released its first-ever Android-powered smartphone, the Priv. However, a rumored second Blackberry Android handset, the Vienna, is reportedly to be in the works. Photos of the alleged smartphone are now surfacing online.

The second Android-powered device from BlackBerry is said to be codenamed as Vienna. As seen in the photos leaked on the Internet, it appears to have a physical keyboard like the Priv, but it does not have a sliding mechanism. It appears to be a slimmer version of BlackBerry Passport that runs on Android operating system.

As reported by Android Authority, the renders that were leaked were from Crackberry, a BlackBerry fan website. Nonetheless, the photos came as no surprise to most people, for the company has previously stated its plans about working on various Android-based devices.

John Chen, the Chief Executive Officer of BlackBerry, has announced that the Canadian tech company will most probably launch other Android handsets in the coming months. Thus, the alleged BlackBerry Vienna might be one of those devices.

The BlackBerry Vienna is also believed to come in various colors, including black, red, blue, and white. There are no other details revealed aside from the physical aspects of the new purported BlackBerry smartphone. However, the rumors that are circulating around the Internet might not actually come into reality. Hence, everyone should just wait for the formal announcement of the company any time soon.

Whether the rumors are true or not, it is worth noting that BlackBerry is getting more serious in developing Android-powered devices these days. The company is still aiming to get back on track with its new inventions, so the speculations about the second Android smartphone might hold true very soon. Since the Priv has just unveiled, all BlackBerry users and speculators should wait a bit more patiently for the next device to arrive.
