Chivalry: Medieval Warfare doubles available max player from 12 to 24; Game uses dedicated servers for better gaming

The recently announced Chivalry: Medieval Warfare by Activision and Torn Banner Studios is expected to double the available max number of players from 12 to 24. The game was released on December 1 on Xbox One and December 2 on PS4.

WCCF Tech revealed that the major difference between the previous PS3 and X360 editions and the latest PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game is the doubling of the available max player from 12 to 24. Furthermore, the Chivalry: Medieval Warfare will have dedicated servers for the game to run better and battles will appear to be more intense. The host-migration as well as poor connection quality will no longer affect the players in the battle.

The report also talked about the interview with the President of Torn Banner Studios, Steve Piggott. When asked about the frame rate and resolution available for the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Piggott said that the PS4 version will run at 60 FPS Cap while the Xbox One will have 30 FPS Cap.

Steve also made it clear that game will not use platform specific features like Kinect or touchpad features. Furthermore, the matchmaking online and custom invite are the only matches that are made possible.

For available mods on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the developers of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare said that they were unable to add custom maps or modsin the said versions of Chivalry due to legal reasons.

The game's console port and the content included in the current PC version will include a new "Horde mode," said Escapist Magazine. This is where the players fight off skeletons and monsters along with other players.

Times Of India mentioned that Developer Torn Banner Studios still did not offer any further explanation about the frame rate difference between the Xbox One and PS4 platforms.

The frame rate issue seems to disappoint gamers of the Xbox One. They expect Chivalry: Medieval Warfare to run the same FPS on PS4 to the Xbox One version.
