New screen captures of the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 have been leaked online. The updated look of the user interface for the Galaxy S6 comes with an updated pull-down status shutter, Pro mode for the camera app and more features.
The Korean phone builder are well on their way to launching the new builds of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge+, S6 and S6 Edge owners. According to Tech Times, the Galaxy Note 5 leads the pack in Samsung's roadmap to getting the Marshmallow update, and then the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ are next on the list.
Users can anticipate the OTA release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Galaxy S6 sequence by January 2016. Neuro Gadget also notes some significant visual changes to the TouchWiz UI design, which is more flat and rounded.
The Camera app of the Galaxy S6 has also gained a new Pro setting on the camera, which the Galaxy Note 5 already has. The Pro mode allows users to access new features, such as being able to set the shutter speed, ISO, exposure, white balance and more.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update test phase for the Galaxy S6 started last November 15, 2015, according to a leaked document from Samsung files. It's also been further reported that the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ have already passed the tests and are now planning for the OTA release, which will happen in the next month or even sooner.
GSM Arena records Galaxy S6 specs as sporting a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, an Exynos 7420 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, a 16 megapixel back-facing camera with Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, auto HDR, panorama and optical image stabilisation, and a 5 megapixel front-facing shooter.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 will also receive the most-awaited Android Marshmallow update including the Doze mode, which is said to improve battery life by a significant amount, and upgrades to the fingerprint scanners.
