Riddick 4 updates has been revealed by Vin Diesel himself. The actor announced that the title of fourth installment of Riddick will be The Chronicles of Riddick: Furia.
The first Riddick film entitled Pitch Black was somewhat a gory, dark, and violent story of survivors battling against bloodthirsty mutant creatures. Second installment was more sci-fi driven film that attempted to stretch the mythology of its leading character. Fans all over the globe clamored that the film should return to its original flavor, and so the third Riddick pitted Vin Diesel against monsters and bounty hunters in an R-rated action coolness.
David Twohy and Vin Diesel have been talking about having two more sequels in the franchise. Universal Studio got on board for Riddick 4 film, and last month the star revealed on social media that David Twohy is now ready to start on the script.
It almost took nine years and some several budget conflicts to get Riddick to the big screen. Now it appears the Vin Diesel's continued determination and positivism to keep the franchise alive has paid off.
Riddick 4 will be centered on Riddick's home world Furya - though the actor spelled it Furia on his Instagram. It will also be connected back to the events of The Chronicles of Riddick. David Twohy explains, "That's where we end up. I know what that movie looks like, I've talked it out. It has all the right notes, it's a great movie. The real question is: what do you do before you get there? Is it a voyage through the Necromonger universe? Do you have to earn the right to return home by some trial of fire? That's what we're talking about doing. Perhaps."
Diesel and Twohy also confirmed that they will start filming The Chronicles of Riddick: Furia by early 2017. The plot will serve as an origin story or prequel of where Riddick comes from.
