After some confusion over the local co-op feature on "Resident Evil: Revelations 2," Capcom would soon be releasing a beta version, which wasn't as warmly received as before by some heartbroken fans. The announcement was made via Steam Community.
The Capcom announcement made at the Steam Community notified "Resident Evil: Revelations 2" of the upcoming split-screen co-op beta that would be released soon. The announcement said that "soon we plan to release a beta branch on Steam which will allow two players to play the Story and Raid modes locally via split-screen." The game developers added that "we want to get this feature in the hands of our PC players as soon as possible." The immediate release of the split-screen co-op beta would not be "100% polished," based on Capcom's statement.
Capcom has also guaranteed that they would be hearing out the concerns of "Resident Evil: Revelations 2" gamers concerning the split-screen co-op beta. They said that "feedback from those who try it would be welcomed." The added that "for anyone who isn't satisfied with this option, refunds would be available through Steam."
The hullaballoo began last month when "Resident Evil: Revelations 2" was listed in Steam for pre-orders,based on a report from Kotaku. The game promised a local co-op feature. However, after gamers launched the highly anticipated title, a tiny problem emerged; the game did not support local co-op. The mess naturally lead to the frustration of gamers.
In the following days that came, a modder added a local co-op to the game. Its effect to Capcom was instant as the giant game developer soon made the statement that it would release a split-screen beta from "Resident Evil: Revelations 2," which PC gamers could try out in the Story and Raid modes.
However, only time would tell how this story would end as a lot of gamers who ordered the game for that feature were truly disappointed; seemed like they were ripped off.
