As Avengers: Age of Ultron draws closer to its release date this summer, soon our speculation will turn to one thing and one thing only: end-credits teasers. They're the perfect dessert at the end of two hours of Marvel mayhem- not only that, but they allow us to freak out about movies that are still years away from releasing. The teaser at the end of the Avengers got us excited for Avengers: Infinity War, even if we didn't know that movie existed at the time. The teaser at the end of Captain America: Winter Soldier got us pumped for Age of Ultron. What might be at the end of this summer's new Avengers film?
Well, whatever it is, it might have something to do with the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War- and it could end up being a major giveaway of what we'll see in that film. If there's one movie that's primed to tease the next big Avengers showdown, it's this summer's Avengers showdown. Age of Ultron is nearly guaranteed to make several billion dollars at the box office, so there's no bigger audience for an Infinity War tease than at the very end of Age of Ultron.
Or could the movie itself explain what'll happen in the future of the Marvel Universe? According to Movie Pilot, the team of Avengers we'll be seeing in Infinity War might not be the team we're expecting, and there may be major cuts to the usual superhero roster. They're predicting that Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and the Vision will appear in the third Avengers film- notably leaving out the usual heroes like Captain America, Thor and the Hulk.
If superheroes are to drop out of the series, Avengers: Age of Ultron might be a good place to start dropping 'em. But we won't know until the film hits theaters. Or at least until its after-credits teasers start leaking online.
