Sony and Microsoft had both released their April system update and gamers would surely be happy to note the major fixes, not to mention perks that would be included in the annual spring update.
Sony was the first to launch their April system update for PS4 users on March 26th. Codenamed "Yukimura," Update 2.5 featured several enhancements on the next generation console; however, the major feature that truly grabbed nearly everyone's attention was the suspend/resume function that was included in the update. With the suspend/resume function, PS4 gamers would no longer have to worry about their games not being saved during circumstances that they had to go elsewhere and there's no nearby save point at the game during that time, based on a report from Digital Trends.
In an earlier report, it was explained how gamers would be able to activate the suspend/resume function by going to the save settings of the next generation game console; then, gamers needed to activate the "keep application suspended." Other enhancements that were part of the "Yukimura" update were requested by PS4 gamers. On the other hand, a few enhancements would also be dealing with improving the social networking experience of PS4 gamers like a Facebook friend finder feature, optimized trophy list and improved account security with sub-account upgrade and verified accounts update to name a few.
Meanwhile, Microsoft released a recent video in the Xbox YouTube channel, which detailed the enhancements that would be included in the Xbox April system update. In the video Xbox gamers would be able to see the latest functions included in the April system update like the voice messages record and playback that could also be done across Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Add to that, Xbox One gamers who were Xbox One Live Gold subscribers would be getting the chance to get six games for free during the April system update. Gamers would be able to choose from games like "Pool Nation FX" and "Child of Light."
PS4 gamers on the other hand could take a sigh of relief now that they would have the suspend/resume options especially for those who had been playing "Bloodborne" and had been dying quite frequently since day one.
