Street Fighter 5 welcomes more characters in its young roster of 4 as Birdie and Cammy have been revealed in Sony's E3 press conference. Of course, a heap of information on what they will be bringing to the game has been discussed. Apart from new characters, the Capcom title will also be entering a beta mode to be divided in three phases, with the first one commencing next month.
From the time it was conceived, Street Fighter 5 already had Nash, Chun Li, Ryu, and Bison as the playable characters. It is quite expected that Cammy would be joining along as she has been present since Super Street Fighter 2. As reported on in IGN, Birdie has been appearing since Street Fighter Alpha 3, but has never been playable. Thus, this bit of news would be a pleasant surprise to fans, especially when they find out the moves he is capable of, in addition to Cammy's.
In Street Fighter 5, the V-Trigger and the V-Skill have been introduced. For the former, it entails Cammy being able to create after-images of her figure, which will lead to multiple executions of her special offense moves. On the other hand, Birdie can channel an angry state where his damage would greatly rise up, while gaining armor attributes in some attacks.
When it comes to the V-Skills, Spin Knuckle is still what's in for Cammy. This move is known to have a projectile motion, while really beating enemies through. The next bit for Birdie makes Street Fighter 5 very unique and worth trying out soon. When the player presses the medium attacks with the directional buttons, he could throw a banana peel for enemies to slip, gain V-Gauge by munching on a donut, and even gulp a beer and throw the can afterwards to a far distance, although with low damage.
Street Fighter 5 is yet to have an official release date from Sony and Capcom. Nonetheless, the beta phase is coming up, with the first to last for five days from July 23. The next two parts of the PS4 beta will still be discussed. At the same time, there are also plans to let PC users give the title a trial run prior to launching.
