The CW show "Arrow" is already in its fourth season and according to reports, a familiar face will be seen in the upcoming season as Felicity, the funny IT support girl, will reprise her role. It has also been confirmed that fresh faces will be introduced including actress Rutina Wesley from the show "Hannibal."
Felicity Smoak, played by actress Emily Bett Rickards, is a fan favorite but she was not able to make a lot of appearances in Season 3 as the show geared towards a darker tone. In the previous season, she was not as funny as she was before and was focused on balancing her love triangle with Oliver and Ray Palmer. However, Season 4 will be showing more of her as the showrunner of the series, Marc Guggenheim, confirmed this report during the Television Critics Association summer press tour held last week, Cinema Blend reported.
It was announced that "Arrow" Season 4 will be much lighter than the previous season that is why Felicity will be coming back. And it is expected that her romance with Oliver will continue. Guggenheim also promised that Felicity's humor will be seen as her comedic moments with Oliver will be featured.
In a report by Zap2it, the showrunner also shared that Oliver's relationship with Felicity is the thing that he aspires as it is positive and a healthy environment. However, he adds, "But can [he] do it while also a vigilante? That's going to be the two things pulling at him throughout the year." Season 4 will see much of the dilemma of how can Oliver be himself and be Arrow at the same time around Felicity.
Meanwhile, Mstarz shared that new faces will be featured in "Arrow" Season 4 and it includes Rutina Wesley. She will reportedly play Liza Warner, a character from the DC Comics known as a Lady Cop. Wesley will be joining other fresh members of the show such as Jimmy Akingbola, Neal McDonough, Alexander Calver, Echo Kellum, Falk Hentschel, and Casper Crump.
"Arrow" Season 4 returns this October 8 on The CW.
