Jason Momoa is set to star in DC's grittier and darker take on Aquaman, and has been preparing for his character's appearances in various DC films by training with Mada Abdelhamid. Director James Wan also recently hinted about monsters being included in the upcoming film.

WWE 'Tough Enough' contender Mada Abdelhamid revealed to Bleacher Report that he is Jason Momoa's current personal trainer and will also go with him on set in the actor's movies Aquaman, and Justice League.

As cited in the previous report, the actor also revealed that he has been following a strict routine and implementing discipline during his training for his appearances in 'Justice League'. The actor also revealed that he has trained several months to achieve the look needed for the role.

Although it is yet to be confirmed, iDigital Times reported that the titular character might have to fight against underwater monsters in the upcoming film after director James Wan hinted about gigantic creatures being included in a film.

On his Twitter account, Wan was asked why he has not done a movie about giant monsters given his liking for the said creatures. Without mentioning specific details, Wan hinted that giant monsters might appear in one of his films soon.

"Patience, my friend. In due time. Closer than you know.", Wan said as an answer to the question. Aside from Aquaman, the director also has his hands full for his directorial responsibilities in The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist. He is also set to produce an upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot for New Line Cinema.

Plot details for Aquaman is currently under wraps, however, more details are expected to be released as production moves forward. It will be directed by Wan based on the screenplay by Kurt Johnstad. It is set to hit theaters in July 27, 2018.
