Apple OS X El Capitan Launches on September 30; Improves Mac Experience

By

On September 30, Apple's OS X El Capitan is scheduled to be launched. This latest desktop and laptop operating system is a free update from the Mac App Store and it supports all Macs introduced in 2009 and some models released in 2007 and 2008.

OS X El Capitan focuses on system performance enhancements and improvements to the Mac experience, as well as speeds up one's computer. It is visually almost identical to the current OS X Yosemite and has a new typeface, San Francisco.

The refinements have been specifically made for built-in applications, Spotlight search, and window management. The performance enhancements include opening PDFs, accessing email more rapidly and responsive, and launching and switching applications noticeably faster.

The Cupertino-based tech giant claims that speed has enhanced between 1.4 and four times the performance of OS X Yosemite, depending on the task. Part of that performance boost is the introduction of Apple's Metal graphics system, which was first introduced with iOS 8.

This metal replaces OpenGL and speeds things up. Applications that use Apple's core graphics system will benefit without doing anything. Those programs that interact with Metal directly, such as games, Adobe Photoshop, or Premier will see an even greater boost.

OS X El Capitan include an enhanced Mission Control, Notes application, Split View, a cursor spotting feature, transit directions in Maps, better full screen view in Mail, and the ability to quickly spot and mute tabs in Safari to match the updated application on iOS.

Some of the features of this new computer operating system are designed to be familiar to all iPhone and iPad users. Now, everybody with an iPhone and a Mac has access to these expert and outstanding features.

OS X El Capitan is most likely all about the speed. It makes older machines feel like brand-new again. On the whole, it is a great update with interesting new features.
