‘Mission Impossible 6’ Update: Last sequel of the movie series confirmed as Tom Cruise will retire as Ethan Hunt

After five movie installments, the "Mission Impossible" might now come to an end. Tom Cruise has endured different impossible challenges along the way and he is likely to retire as Ethan Hunt.

As it was reported on MNR Daily, "Mission Impossible 6" will certainly start shooting on summer. Tom Cruise revealed that the team is in the first stage of pre-production. According to him, the producers are working on the sixth sequel franchise at Paramount and they are hopeful that the filming takes place next summer. If this happens, the future movie will be the shortest gap ever produced in all the "Mission Impossible" movie series.

In the previous film, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has had a scene where he was underwater without oxygen for six minutes. The behind-the-underwater-scene video was released from Access Hollywood. Normally, Tom Cruise would be seen in some heavy stunts in "Mission Impossible". But, the video proved that he is no ordinary action star.

According to Cruise, Entertainment Weekly noted that he wants to prove that holding breath under water is safe with the consent and training by the professionals. Normally, ordinary people can last underwater for at least 10 to 15 seconds. But for him, it took him safe training to do it.

"So I had to prove to everyone that it was actually safe, and spend time with the safety guys and the safety officers to show them, look, not only is it safe," he said. "It's better that I know how to hold my breath because I'm going to be very relaxed. No one's going to have to rush in, no one's going to have to panic."

A crew member then revealed that he was very comfortable underwater. In fact, he challengingly stayed longer than six minutes which made all the crew worried of him.

Rumors say that since Cruise is aging, the "Mission Impossible 6" will be the last sequel. Aside from the rumors that a new director might helm the project, further details are kept on wraps. However, these remain uncertain until further details and announcements.
