Aside from Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Alec Baldwin are also likely to return to reprise their respective roles.

Paramount is currently developing the next installment in the action thriller franchise with Cruise. However, fter filming concludes in Jack Reacher 2, Cruise will not immediately hop on for Mission Impossible 6. This is because he is expected to proceed filming with Doug Liman for the sci-fi flick, Luna Park. No director and actors have also been linked for the film yet.

'Mission Impossible 6' will be the latest installment of the MI franchise. Some say that it is high time that Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt hang up his spy suit in MI6, which could be the biggest blockbuster of the MI films.
Ethan Hunt is set to return in the big screen for another round of adrenaline-pumping action in the upcoming Mission Impossible 6. According to Tom Cruise, that they are currently working on the sequel, and might begin shooting next year. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation was a box office success with an opening day income of $121 million. The film grossed $56 million domestically, and grossed #65 million from its international market, as reported by Variety. Aside from the previous film, the franchise also reportedly pulled $ 2 billion from the combined profit of the previous 4 films. With the success of the franchise, Paramount Picture's Rob Moore reportedly endorsed Tom Cruise's announcement of a sixth movie in the franchise. According to Cruise, they have started working on the next film, and revealed that they'll probably begin filming in summer next year. Christopher McQuarrie has not confirmed yet whether he will return to return another for another film in the franchise, however, he did note that a change of directors can be beneficial to it. “And they are very, very challenging movies to make and, with each movie, it becomes more challenging for the next person. And when I was watching Tom on the side of the A400, the first thing I said when he landed was, ‘Boy, I feel sorry for the next director.’” McQuarrie said, as reported by Movie News Guide. It is understandable that no plot details and official release date has been announced yet given that the film is currently in its early stages of production but according to Cinemablend, Paramount is reportedly planning on begin filming next summer and release the film some time in June or July 2017. Although no cast details have been released yet for Mission Impossible 6, Cruise is expected to reprise his role as the IMF Agent Ethan Hunt. More official details are expected to be released as production progress in the coming months.
