Just a week after seeding iOS 9.1 beta 4, Apple has just seeded its iOS 9.1 beta 5 build to public beta testers and authorized developers for testing purposes. This latest beta build update is expected to fix some bugs.
The iOS 9.1 beta 5 is available as an over-the-air (OTA) update for eligible users or direct download through iTunes and Apple Developer Center. It is listed as a bug fix release and it carries build number 13B137. This beta does not come with new previews of Apple Configurator, tvOS, or Xcode, unlike the previous ones.
The Cupertino-based tech giant has released this update on Monday afternoon, but did not share more details about it. As per the released notes from Apple, developers should take time to look out for the remaining problems related to PhotoKit, UIKit, iCloud Keychain, and Restore. This signals that a public launch might just be around the corner any time soon.
PhotoKit keeps on displaying issues with gesture recognizers and the restore process might not function to all users. Additionally, the iCloud Keychain is also problematic for some users; however, it can be solved with just a simple reboot.
It is also worth noting that the first iOS 9.1 beta has brought new features and compatibility updates for the iDevices. It includes support for Unicode 8 as well as new set of emojis and Messages option in the Settings application that lets users to disable images for their contacts.
Unfortunately, it is still uncertain as to when the iOS 9.1 will be launched to the public. Nevertheless, it will most probably arrive later this month or in early November, corresponding to the debut of the forthcoming iPad Pro.
All Apple users and spectators may just have to wait for a short time. The tech giant is moving along its iOS 9.1 well as it just recently released its newest beta 5 build.
