As Android 6.0 Marshmallow's official over-the-air rollout nears, Google promises killer features that Android phone users will be much excited about including Android Pay, Type-C USB, and fingerprint sensor, among others.
Google is on the verge of preparing for the October release of the 2015 Nexus 5 smartphone as it will debut the Android Pay. The upcoming flagship smartphone is expected to bear killer specs and a reasonable price.
The next Nexus phone is expected to be released this coming September and according to Google, it will have the main features, the Google M operating system and the Android Pay. The Android Pay is expected to go head to head with the Apple Pay due to its features and benefits.
The 2015 Google Nexus devices are expected to run Android M, featuring a native finger support. The native fingerprint support would bring two new APIs: Confirm Credential and fingerprint API.
Dave Burke reveals 6 key areas that Android M would be focusing on in order to improve core use experience upon its release around Q3 2015. In Google’s I/O event, M is set to enhance app permissions, web experience, app links, mobile payments, fingerprint support, and power and charging.
Apple’s iOS 9 will only have limited features in order to have a “big focus on quality,” while Google’s Android M is designed to “focus on quality end-to-end.” A table shows the comparison between the “qualities” that each mobile OS focuses on.
2015 LG and Huawei Google Nexus devices are expected to run Android M. Features that could be included are App Ops, fingerprint reading, “Doze” mode, USB-C port, and Google Now on Tap.
Google was reported to be making plans to develop Android Pay that would work alongside the already established Google Wallet, which was aimed to beat its top competitor Apple Pay.
