The recent episodes of this season's run of 'Once Upon a Time' have been taking a darker tone according to the International Business Times. With the Queens of Darkness plotting to take over the town of Storybrooke with the villainous Rumpelstiltskin, as well as Emma's path ever drawing closer to the "dark side," the show clearly needs a ray of light to illuminate its bleak storyline.

Fortunately, fans may get to see a turn in the show's storyline after Rose McIver, who played Tinkerbell, expressed her interest in reprising her role as the "often-weird" but nevertheless lovable fairy in an interview with Vulture: "We've tried to talk about it and see if we can make that work. Scheduling can always be quite difficult, but it is a world that I would love to return to. I had a lot of fun on it, and a lot of my really dear friends are on that show. So hopefully Tink makes a reappearance!"

McIver currently stars in the hit TV series 'iZombie' as Olivia 'Liv' Moore, and according to her, the show's creator Rob Thomas is "really good friends" with Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, creators of 'Once Upon a Time.' She also stated that both creators are working together to give McIver a guest appearance in 'Once Upon a Time' as her beloved character.

If this does happen, it would be very good for the show's protagonists, especially Regina, who is experiencing quite a struggle after losing the love of her life (Robin Hood). The formerly evil Queen has been trying hard to stay good in these dark times, but a confrontation with Rumpelstiltskin may shake her resolve.

Will Tinkerbell get a chance to make another magical appearance and turn things around for the heroes?

'Once Upon a Time' airs every Sunday on ABC.
