Sprint Started Rolling Android 5.1 Lollipop Update To Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge this month with added enhancements and bug solutions.
Sprint has rolled out the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop Update to Note Edge, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge with few minor tweaks on its features. The latest software began on July 13.
For those who were lucky enough to be given an invite to Project Fi MVNO service, a new version of Lollipop is soon to arrive in all Nexus 6 smartphones.
Sprint is carrying the LG G4 this June and offers a promotional package for it. Sprint will be releasing the LG G4 officially on 5 June in the US. The third largest US phone carrier is offering LG's latest flagship phone through Sprint Lease for US$18 per month and no down payment.
The Android 5.0 is coming to Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Spark, and HTC One M7 in their respective regions and carriers. Device owners are going to have New Material Design, New interface for Recents section, Screen Pinning, and other features.
Sprint is rolling out Android 5.1.1 updates for LG Nexus 5 with build code LMY48B. The upgrade is also going to hit various Nexus devices such as Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and Sony Xperia Z3 (model code D66030), and would new animations, improved Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings, camera timeout fix, security enhancements, and others.
The Nexus 5 is set to receive the Android 5.1.1 update from Sprint, while the Moto E is expected to get the same Android version as soon as Motorola confirms positive test results.
Galaxy S4 and S5 devices started receiving Android 5.0 updates. However, it seems not helpful as researches revealed that hackers can easily steal personal information in phones running Android 5.0 and older OS version. The Galaxy S5 was found out to be the easiest to attack.
A leak showed Google’s plans in becoming a mobile carrier. The leak revealed an app named ‘Project Fi’, showing the concept of charging customers for “as per data usage.” The app is rumored to work only with a Nexus 6 device. One report also believes that ‘Project Fi’ could be changed into ‘Google Wireless’ upon its release.
Android 5.0/5.0.2 updates for HTC Desire Eye, Desire 816, and Butterfly S were released recently. The latest OS upgrade included new features such as Sense 6.5. Meanwhile, an Android 5.1 LMY470 factory image file can be downloaded for Nexus 4 devices.
