According to Tom Cruise, that they are currently working on the sequel, and might begin shooting next year. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation was a box office success with an opening day income of $121 million. The film grossed $56 million domestically, and grossed #65 million from its international market, as reported by Variety. Aside from the previous film, the franchise also reportedly pulled $ 2 billion from the combined profit of the previous 4 films. With the success of the franchise, Paramount Picture's Rob Moore reportedly endorsed Tom Cruise's announcement of a sixth movie in the franchise. According to Cruise, they have started working on the next film, and revealed that they'll probably begin filming in summer next year. Christopher McQuarrie has not confirmed yet whether he will return to return another for another film in the franchise, however, he did note that a change of directors can be beneficial to it. “And they are very, very challenging movies to make and, with each movie, it becomes more challenging for the next person. And when I was watching Tom on the side of the A400, the first thing I said when he landed was, ‘Boy, I feel sorry for the next director.’” McQuarrie said, as reported by Movie News Guide. It is understandable that no plot details and official release date has been announced yet given that the film is currently in its early stages of production but according to Cinemablend, Paramount is reportedly planning on begin filming next summer and release the film some time in June or July 2017. Although no cast details have been released yet for Mission Impossible 6, Cruise is expected to reprise his role as the IMF Agent Ethan Hunt. More official details are expected to be released as production progress in the coming months.
