The latest episode of the Starz series, "Outlander" showed Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) being tortured by Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Series writer Ira Steven Behr recalled that the episode was easy to write, but it was painful to watch it come to life on set. Behr admitted that Heughan felt uncomfortable filming the scene while the staff and crew had tears on their eyes.
